Sahara-Clive Cussler

Okay, here's my first blog! I just finished reading "Sahara" by Clive Cussler. I was very shocked that I actually liked his writing. I've seen them around for years but have never really picked one up as I was thinking he was a writer more along the lines of Tom Clancy. I was wrong! That being said, I did enjoy the book better than the movie. I liked most of the casting except Penelope Cruz. I really don't like her but I do love Matthew McConaughey so that is always a plus. This was a hard to put down book! It has a bit of everything for everyone.

When I first started reading this book, I did compare it with the movie. There were parts that were true to the book but there were whole concepts that were in the book that weren't in the movie. The movie focused on the ironclad Civil War ship, Texas, whereas the book focused on the red tide plague that threatened the whole planet. The book's ending was wonderful! I did like the book much better than the movie but the movie did have Matthew without his shirt and that is always a plus!
